I hate to say it, but I predicted this outcome in my June 4, 2008 post :

2008 - The Year of the Black Man - Obama Will Cream McCain!

Barack Obama’s victory was an historic one. As the first black man to become President, he has broken a barrier that signals a new era for African Americans in our national political sceen. He was just too charismatic and the media was too biased in his favor for any other outcome.

Now that it has come to pass, it behooves our nation that we as Americans should all give our new President elect the benefit of our respect and support as he moves forward to lead our nation.

Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin ran a good compaign and McCain showed great character in his concession speech. My wife and I attended a Palin rally at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh on the Saturday before the election. There were 10,000 people inside and another 3,000 plus standing outside the building. But alas, Palin was too little too late to motive the conservative Christian base to come to the McCain banner. Apparently, the independent vote did not materialize for him either.

That said, it’s my opinion that any Republican Presidential candidate would have faced a difficult task in going against the national craze that motived millions of new and formerly disaffected voters from pushing Obama to victory.

Senator Obama apparently generated enough excitement to have strong coattails for other Democrats to follow him to victory. Let’s hope they follow through on their victory speeches and represent all Americans as they serve in public office. Conservatives and values voters should be on our guard for the liberal push that may follow a Democrat majority in both houses of Congress and the White House.

While it has become fashionable to bash President George W. Bush, this blogger is thankful for his tenure as Commander in Chief in defending American from further Islamic terrorist attacks. Let us pray that President Obama will do as well protecting America as Commander in Chief. I am also thankful for his appointment of two great jurists to the U.S. Supreme Court, Roberts and Alito. I fear a liberal judicial activist appointment by Obama. I just wish Bush hadn’t increased government spending so much and that he’d kept a better eye on Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Wallstreet.

Some of my Democrat friends have accused me of being in the tank for the GOP. Let me make it clear, I am in the tank for the sanctity of life, prolife, and the sanctity of traditional marriage, one man and one woman. These social values drive my political activism and I can support no political candidate for any office who is willing to sacrifice unborn children to slaughter or aid and abet the radical homosexuals in destroying marriage and using government force to teach our children that two daddies or two mommies are as valid as a mother and father. If the Democrats should ever abandon their pro-abortion, pro-radical homosexual positions, then I will consider voting for them and if the Republicans ever abandon the family, then I will abandon them.

Family, faith and freedom are my voting criteria. In 2012, I think a Huckabee-Palin ticket would be a winner.

Last night I was in shock and awe at the overwhelming victories that a licentious libertarian come lately to the GOP, many moderate to liberal Republicans and most all Democrats achieved in the day’s elections across NC. Monday was my birthday and so I could not get out to any precincts until 3:30 AM on Tuesday, election day.

What I saw spoke volumes about the lack of organization among some Republican and conservatives’ campaigns, the zealous activity of the Libertarians who have invaded our party to get elected–since they failed to get their own party recognized by the state of NC–and the overwhelming hyper-activity of the partisan NCAE teachers’ union on behalf of their bedfellows in the Democrat Party. I hit the first polls at 3:30 AM and by the time they opened at 6:30 I had worked my way through some 20 precincts in Fuquay Varina, Holly Springs, Apex, Raleigh and Cary. I was placing signs for Augustus Cho for Congress, Fred Smith for Governor and John M. Tyson for NC Court of Appeals judge. As the polls opened I made my way through Morrisville to Briar Creek, Bethesda and Durham, even going so far as Wake Forest in the north.

What I observed was that the libertarians’ candidate had effectively placed his signs in about 80% of the precincts in Southern Wake County, and about two-thirds of the ones in Cary, Apex and Morrisville; but that they missed over half of the precincts in Durham County, especially those in mostly black or African American precincts.

By the time of 6:30, when the polls opened, I was in Western Wake County on my way to Briar Creek and Durham. I observed that at about three out of four of the precincts in Wake County and in almost every Durham County precinct, with one single exception, that there was one party represented by poll workers…the Democrats. Most of them were the teachers’ union, NCAE, representatives. I met and had small talk regarding politics with about 30 poll workers at over 20 precincts in Wake and Durham Counties, and only one was a Republican, a Huckabee or Keyes supporter as I recall.

The NCAE and another teachers’ union, I have the cards still in my car, gave every voter coming in to vote a card that listed all of their endorsements from President to Governor and from State Superintendent of Public Instruction down to the judges and city councils…without exception, including the page handed out by the Durham Committee on the Affairs of Black People (apparently only liberal black people) every single piece if electioneering literature that I received was to endorse voting for Democrats! The Republican party, including libertarians, had absolutely nobody handing out any literature at any of the 25 polling places I visited between 6:30 AM and 6:30 PM yesterday! The Durham poll worker who was supporting either Huckabee or Keyes, was the only Republican handing out any literature at any of the precincts. His was just a candidate comparison and did not even ask people to vote for Keyes or Huckabee!

If the NC Republican Party and conservatives with in the party during primaries, is ever going to become the party and the movement of power, we have got to learn to work the precincts on election days! Last January I worked in the Columbia, SC area for Mike Huckabee in the final days leading up to that state’s presidential primary. While standing at one polling place during the last hour of a long day’s campaigning for Mike Huckabee, I had about 10 or 12 procrastinators come in to vote. Of them, about eight or ten when asked “Have you made up your mind about who to vote for for President” said “No”! When I asked them, while holding a Huckabee sign and some of his literature, “May I share with you why I support Governor Huckabee?” said “Yes.” After talking with them for anywhere from two to ten minutes, about six out of the eight, said something like “Thanks!, I’m glad you were here. I will be voting for Huckabee.” That was after a year of a national campaign!

What did I learn? Voters, even primary voters, will feel compelled, perhaps guilty, to vote; but they are too busy or too lazy or there’s too much smoke and mirrors in the sound bites for them to decide who to trust, for them to decide who to vote for until they arrive at the voting place. I had college educated men and women, white middle class and middle aged blue collar workers, young mothers, at least one businessman and a couple of members of the military tell me words to the effect of “I’m just going to go into the voting booth and toss a coin.”

Now that you know why the Democrats and NCAE turn out their poll workers, perhaps you will be motivated in November 2008 to go hold a John McCain sign…or maybe not! Pick your candidate or candidates and work to get them elected.

Now, as to last night…there were a lot of reasons why the conservatives in the GOP and our judges lost in the partisan and so-called “non-partisan judicial” races. Hillary and Obama gave 1 million new Democrat voters a reason to come to the polls and vote. It was just plain black and white, man versus woman. Oh, here’s what one 24 year old, college educated, Democrat poll worker told me: I asked her “Hillary or Obama?” and She replied “Well I’m ambivalent, but since Hillary’s got a vagxxx, I guess I’ll vote for her.” And, she didn’t even blush when she stated it to a middle-aged, white man after having just met me two minutes prior! Where is the shame and humility, where is the sense of moral decency among our young people?!

Oh, by the way, on the other side of the isle, we had John McCain at the top of the ticket and we all saw how much of the base, let alone new voters he motivated to vote in the Republican primary! It’s our party’s lack of grassroots activists and the top of the ticket to blame for yesterday’s results. But that’s just the informed opinion of one conservative Republican activists who happens to host a radio, TV and internet blog in his spare time. May God have mercy on America and may we all re-examine what we stand for, what we are willing to swallow, how much we will tolerate and what we will take a stand for in our families, lives, churches, schools, conservative movement, party and country.

You email or print a pdf file on my blog commentaries and email them to your friends. Or you can do like BJ, and broadcast them to people you are trying to hit-up for money to buy an election.

BLOG PUBLISHER and EDITOR CHUCK CAMPBELL***

BJ Lawson: He’s NOT a Medical Doctor: Is He The New Face of the Klan in Politics?

Last Saturday I received a phone call from a contrite BJ Lawson explaining that he did not intend to censor my post on his blog in response to Angry MavTek, but that he just was awaiting me to clarify attribution of the remarks to MavTek versus Lawson’s Facebook Coordinator. I did agree for him to make that clarification as editor of his blog. Now, here’s the breaking news I got from that conversation with Lawson…

BJ Lawson, Republican candidate for Congress in the 4th Congressional District (which includes about 25% of Raleigh and Wake County; most of Durham and perhaps all of Orange County) has made a statement that I can find nowhere on his website, blog nor any of his posts online….

BJ Lawson, who is opposing Augustus Cho (former Orange County Republican Chairman) in the Republican Primary for the 4th Congressional District and the opportunity to run against the Liberal Democrat, ant-Christian, pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, anti-traditional marriage incumbent Democrat Congressman David Price. This is the same Congressman Price who tried to have this Radio/TV Talk Show host kicked out of a public town hall meeting which Price hosted back in 1994 at the Fuquay Varina High School, because I had the audacity to bring with me a Christian Coalition Voter Guide and ask Mr. Price to explain why he voted “yes” or “no” on specific legislation.

The licentious libertarian Lawson had ignored my direct question which I twice posted to his blog last week. The question was very simple and direct: Do you support a Constitutional Amendment to remove the birthright of American citizenship from the babies born to illegal aliens?

LAWSON STATED “I DO” SUPPORT AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION…

to remove the birthright of citizenship from the babies born on American soil to illegal aliens. To this Publisher, this is shocking and hypocrisy. It is a duplicity in his handling of two critical problems facing Americans, that of the threat of Militant Homosexuals and their agenda to get government validation for their sodomy and that of the overwhelming flood of illegal immigrants to the USA. Lawson made the semantical distinction that this would be an “amendment to an the 14th Amendment and not the Constitution.” Thats a semantical argument over words. Lawson further contradicts his 10th Amendment limited government stick by supporting the Human Life Amendment, which to his credit he is correct to support, it is after all part of the Republican Party platform since Reagan.

The fact is that our founding fathers provided one mechanism to amend the Constitution. When Prohibition was passed as the 18th Amendment, they did not abolish it by amending the amendment, they had to pass the 21st Amendment to the Constitution. So it is with taking away citizenship as a birthright to all Americans. Just think of the horror stories, the Orwellian nightmare prospect of a federal bureaucrat inspecting documents to determine if you and your parents (one or both of whom could be dead or have Alzheimer’s) were in fact both born in the USA “legally”!

Regardless of what you believe about whether the Constitution should be amended to protect the traditional Judeo-Christian definition of marriage (and I do wholeheartedly believe that such an amendment is absolutely critical in the face of the liberal judical activism of the courts); and regardless of what you think should be done to solve the problem of illegal immigration which threatens the very sovereignty and national security of our great Republic, one must be consistent in how they apply a test to when the Constitution should be amended.

Lawson stated in the phone call on 3/22/2008 at about 5:05 PM, that he saw it as “amending the 14th Amendment and not as amending the Constitution”. That is about as political a sidestep and spin of a straightforward question as this Radio and TV Talk Show Host has ever heard! BJ Lawson, who is running against Augustus Cho in the May 6th, 2008 Republican Primary for Congress in the 4th US Congressional District, has adamantly stated multiple times that he thinks that the Constitution is too sacred a document to amend to protect the traditional definition of marriage between one man and one woman, but he has no problem amending the Constitution to deny citizenship to a certain ethnic group of babies born on American soil.

That stinks of duplicity! Of course if you want to be permissive on sodomy and you want to attract racists who oppose Hispanics from coming to America and staying when they have babies, then this is perfectly understandable.

When BJ Lawson saw me coming out of the Wake County Republican Party Convention at Daniels Middle School back on March 18th I was carrying a yard sign for Augustus Cho, the Christian Conservative Republican candidate whom Lawson is opposing in this primary eletion, Lawson said to me “Chuck you look a little out of balance there. You need one of these (holding his own sign).” I stated “Cho is my candidate.” BJ Lawson then stopped and stood about 10 feet from me, he paused for effect and asked a rhetorical question:

“Do you think a man like him, can win in this district?”

Publisher’s Note: Augustus Cho is a Korean born American Citizen.

Is BJ Lawson playing the race card or is he just stoking the coals when he implies that the good people of the 4th Congressional District will not vote for a Korean American like Augustus Cho? You decide. I know what I believe and it frightens me! Combined with his licentious libertarians views about homosexuality, illegal drug usage, gambling, prostitution and other social sins, which are totally permissive and contribute to moral anarchy because they prohibit any social legislation; this is antithetical to our Judeo-Christian worldview, Biblical moral code and traditional family values.

Finally, some of BJ Lawson’s supporters are promoting him as “Dr. Lawson”. BJ Lawson told me personally last fall when I asked if he was a medical doctor like Ron Paul, whom Lawson was campaigning for at the State Fair when I first met him, Lawson replied “No, I left the residency to start a software company.” This is also confirmed by his own campaign website which states in part “I left residency in 2001 to start a medical software company”.

Translation, he never completed his residency to practice medicine and is not a medical doctor although he may have a degree. When you allow your supporters to put you forth in their fundraising appeals as “Dr. Lawson” and you are not, you are practicing deception. It seems that Mr. Lawson should spend a little more time in the Bible that he claims he would carry with him to DC to read the 9th Commandment.

For the record, I do support Augustus Cho www.choforcongress.com for the 4th District of Congress in the May 6th Republican Party primary (but have received no remuneration from either Cho nor his campaign) and believe he has what it takes to beat the Liberal Democrat Socialist incumbent, elitist David Price of the 4th Congressional District.

If you started reading this post on Katy’s Conservative Corner, then you’re in the right place to read the rest of the story. Please skip down a few paragraphs to:

“Read the rest of this story at my blog… and now the commentary continues” below.

I too was impressed with the libertarians’ numbers and level of organization at the Wake County GOP Convention last night. God-fearing Christians Conservatives and Social Conservatives had better wake up and rise to the battle or licentiousness and hedonism with government approval will soon prevail in our society, if America survives the foreign threats long enough.

Since the Libertarians failed to get their own party authorized in NC, they have taken to an highly organized and energized effort to take over the Republican Party in NC. I have witnessed this at several GOP and other conservative and Christian events around Wake County.

Their local fair haired favorite son is none other than that eloquent and handsome, but deceptively dangerous, B.J. Lawson. Lawson, a GOP primary Candidate running against the Conservative Christian Republican Candidate Augustus Cho for the Republican nomination to run for US Congress in the 4th Congressional District against Liberal Democrat David Price, claims if he went to DC that the two books he would carry with him are the Cato Institute’s (Libertarians) Constitution and the Bible.

Remember, Jefferson owned a Koran, but despite what liberal Democrat Muslim Rep. Ellis may protest, Jefferson only owned it because he wanted to study his enemy because he was preparing to wage war against the Islamists of the Barbary Cost. That’s why the Marine Corps hymn says “from the halls of Montazoma to the shores of Tripoli” where Thomas Jefferson (the idol of modern Libertarians) deployed the US Marines to defeat Muslim pirates and protect US interests and citizens abroad.

Back on the 1980’s, while serving in the US Navy, I read Mikhail Gorbachev’s Perestroika, but I assure you that I had no intention of becoming a Communist. In the same way, some politicians carry the Bible around like a letter of reference to gain the trust of Evangelicals. Christians beware!

I first met, William Thomas Lawson Jr., aka B.J. Lawson last fall when we were both at the NC State Fair. I was working the NC Right to Life booth and Lawson was ostensibly working out of the NC Republican Party booth, but was in fact working for Ron Paul, the Libertarian congressman from TX who had to join the GOP to get re-elected (after having run a failed campaign for President on the Libertarian Party ticket). While libertarians have some good economic ideas, they are very dangerous socially.

***Publisher’s Update 3/23/2008:

In his 2008 Presidential bid, Ron Paul supports a Constitutional Amendment to prevent the babies of illegal aliens from having US citizenship by birthright. These have been referred to as so-called “anchor babies” because their parents then are “anchored” to a US Citizen, their US born baby, whom has the right to stay in the US as a Citizen by birth. It seems to me a very dangerous proposition to amend the Constitution to allow a government agency to decide that having a US birth certificate is not sufficient, but that you must then prove the citizenship of your parents. Think about all the potential for abuse if two generations (one of which could be dead or have Alzheimers’) have to prove their citizenship before the current generation, holding a valid US birth certificate, can exercise their rights as a US born Citizen! The prospects for abuse by bureaucrats is frightening to this Conservative Publisher and Radio/TV Talk Show Host.

A couple of months later I began to hear rumors that Lawson was running for Congress. Subsequently, Lawson and I exchanged several email threads (which I still have archived) on issues from legalizing prostitution, to de-criminalizing drugs and bringing all US troops deployed around the world home. The later an isolationist goal which is tantamount to surrendering the free world to the Communist Chinese and Russians and the Islamo Fascists Jihadists.

Publisher’s Update of 3/23/2008 paragraphs seven (7) above re Citizenship by birthright and (17) below re the militant homosexual threat in our classrooms thanks to CA Governor Schwarzenegger and SB 777.***

When our founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence and wrote the Constitution, they were motivated by a Judeo-Christian worldview. This is a worldview that has long since passed from the mainstream American culture. Today, we are mostly materialists and post-modern thinkers. We do not respect or appreciate that there are absolute rights and wrongs. Unfortunately, this opens us up to all kinds of deceptions invented by mankind. Wisdom would council us to be more spiritually discerning. (Editor’s note: See separate blog on the Southern Evangelical Seminary’s Third Annual Conference on Spiritual Discernment coming March 28-29th in Charlotte, NC or visit www.SES.edu for details.)

The Constitution was written by Christian men who believed in a Creator and Providence who ruled over the affairs of men. They understood that the “laws of nature and nature’s God” placed moral restraints on each citizen. Their idea of liberty was the Biblical concept that we are free from sin and death. Today’s post-modern, pop-culture believes and tries to tell us that liberty and freedom are to do whatever feels good. This is the lie of the Devil. God has made us free, but that freedom is to choose to do right. Just because the God of creation, the Alpha and Omega, the LORD Almighty, whose name is Jealous, has given us the freedom to theoretically do wrong, does not mean that we have the right to do wrong.

Today’s Libertarians, lead nationally by Congressman Ron Paul of TX, and in the 4th Congressional District by B.J. Lawson, want to remove the moral and social restraints placed upon us by our forefathers and mothers through moral and social laws to protect the innocent and weak from predators, temptation and sin. The purely Libertarian view today is that prostitution, abortion, gambling, pornography, drugs and all other personal behaviors that do not involve violence, should be legalized. Their god is man and personal freedom to do whatever feels good or right, or at least, whatever one chooses for themselves. This is hedonism. It’s what God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for and it’s the reason He sent the great Flood in Noah’s days. This is moral and social anarchy and would be the death of Western civilization just as sure as Communism or Jihad would bring tyranny that would end our great Republic.

For two decades America has poured billions of dollars onto the Chinese Communist economy. They are using those funds to build a blue water navy that includes aircraft carriers, nuclear submarines and troop transport ships. The country that could put forward a 200 million man land army, can now project that power via the sea lanes. What’s left of the former Soviet Union, is now Russia and they are reaping billions in profits from the high price of oil on the world markets. Russia is using this oil money to rebuild and reactivate it’s bear bombers, nuclear subs and ICBM warheads. One of the largest standing armies on the world is Communist North Korea. Another country with aggressive military intentions, part of the axis of evil. Today in Iraq, Syria and Iran are vying for power and influence in a country that is still up for grabs politically. The Muslimization of Europe is fast becoming a reality. Europe, while no longer a Christian continent, is still home to some of America’s strongest allies. There are many military dangers on the horizon for Western civilization in general and the US in particular.

It is in this season of hostility and while our US Armed Forces, thanks to eight years of Bill Clinton decimating it and a war that has stretched thin a force too small to face war on two fronts, the Libertarians lead by the likes of Ron Paul, and B.J. Lawson in the 4th Congressional District in NC, want to cut and run. They naively think that if we just abandon the rest of the world and bring all of our forward deployed forces home to the motherland, that the Communists, Jihadists and other tyrants around the world will just ignore us. That’s ridiculous and most dangerous to our very existence. If the Libertarians formed a coalition with the Democrats in the US Congress and forced the Commander in Chief to call our soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines home, it would be just to wait for the barbarian swarms to conquer the rest of the civilized world before turning their undivided attention to the only people left to conquer in the free world, the Americans. Our religious liberties are under assault by the ACLU, secular humanists, militant atheists and now the libertarians too.

I for one can not stand idly by and watch the future security of our country, my children and yours, fall prey to peaceniks who want drugs, free-love, abortion-on-demand and hedonism to prevail in the decline and fall of Western civilization and America. I am compelled by the Holy Spirit to speak forth truth and confront evil even when it comes smiling in a nice suite and says sweet words that tickle the ears of many otherwise good intentioned people.

Today’s 10th Amendment libertarians tell us that the US Constitution is a precious and sacred document that we could not amend to protect the institution of traditional one-man, one-woman marriage. Many of them would rather opt to protect the sanctity of the Constitution over the sanctity of life of the unborn child. Our founding fathers were so convinced that the Constitution should never be changed that they made 10 changes before they would even approve it! The Bill of Rights is the guarantee of our personal liberties and restrains the power of government and the evil intentions of men. If freedom of speech rises to the Constitutional level of protection then so do marriage and life.

B.J. Lawson told me just last night at the Wake County Republican Convention that he would not support an amendment to protect marriage. I find B.J. likable and sincere, sincerely wrong. While it grieves me to put forth this thesis, I must remember to be true to my own children and their future as Americans and Christians. Christians must defend our liberties and the right to have moral restraints to protect our posterity, not our prosperity. Libertarians act as if the document is more precious than my marriage and yours. The militant homosexuals are deconstructing the institution of marriage and the libertarians are more interested in a charade about a document than protecting our children from being indoctrinated in the government schools that homosexuality is good. Looking to California and RINO Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s signing of a law last Fall that mandates that homosexuality be taught as a legitimate lifestyle in the K-12 government schools of California, as the future agenda of this militant homosexual elite, we can count on our kids then being recruited by the pedophiles who can not reproduce and so they must prey upon our young to propagate their evil sodomite lifestyle.

***Publisher’s Update 3/23/2008: It is essential to all Americans to recognize that the law which CA Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed will impact the classrooms of the entire country of America. The passage and signing of HB 777 last fall in California mandates the teaching of homosexuality, bisexuality and trans-sexuality to children in all government schools from Kindergarten to 12th grade (please don’t try to imagine the workshops!). Read all about how the militant sodomites have taken over the CA government and its schools: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=55808

Now here’s where it hits home in NC and around the country. The textbook publishers do not publish 50 sets of books. They go to their largest customers, CA and TX, and ask what they want in or left out of the books and that’s what the children in the government schools around the rest of the country, including NC, get to use in our classrooms! The sodomite propaganda, pedophile facilitating books are on their way to your children and my children’s schools now! God’s Word, the Bible says in Leviticus 18:22 that a “man shall not lie with another man as a man lies with a woman for it is a detestable sin” to God! Will you sit by and watch America be taken over by sodomites, while the Libertarians are complicit in their failure to action? Or will you stand for truth in the culture war for America to protect your children now?***

Irish stateman Edmund Burke stated “All that is necessary for evil to prevail, is for good men to do nothing.” The Reverend Martin Luther King. Jr. in a letter from an Alabama jail wrote “Morality can not be legislated, but behavior can be regulated. Judicial decrees may not change men’s hearts, but it can restrain the heartless.” God said “Thou shall not commit adultery.” Our Judeo-Christian worldview demands us to stand for truth in the culture war in America.

Back in my Navy days when I served aboard the USS Enterprise (CVN 65) and USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) I swore an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic and I believe that the zealots in the libertarian movement are just the ones we need to defend against before there is no moral restraint to stop any tyrant from taking over our great Republic when God’s Devine hand of protection is removed for our national sin of licentiousness.
