Justin,
I think that perhaps you may have misunderstood or misread my commentary on the electioneering, or lack thereof by Republican candidates and their supporters, or lack thereof. Of course, your being a licentious libertarian Lawson (henceforth, "L3") supporter would explain how the apparent lack of ability to think and discern truth, could explain your blindness to the obvious truth staring you in the face.
Allow me to explain in terms that even an L3 political activist can understand.
You Libertarians who have come to the GOP to take over our party are doing a superlative job of supporting your nut job candidates.
The Democrat machine, aka, the NCAE, et. al., have a tremendous grass-roots machine to put feet on the street and support their socialist, baby-killing, homosexual pedophile, enabling candidates.
It's the conservatives in the Republican Party that need to wake up and smell their burning defeat and join the fight, metaphorically (that is, in a manner of speaking).
Now, I covered 50 precincts in two counties and drove over 300 miles on Tuesday, May 6th between 3:30 AM and 7:30 PM. So, if I seemed in a hurry or didn't take time for idle chit chat with some stupid Lawson zealots, then I think I chose to use my time wisely. But, thanks for sharing.
Now run on back to your cyborg L3 blog, before you begin to think for yourself and develop spiritual discernment about the L3 wolves in sheep's clothing who tell you what you want to hear to get your votes and then support that nut job RP for president while the social decay of America continues aided and abetted by those L3 moral anarchists and the liberal socialists Democrats.

well, for the record:

i was working at the northern durham high school precinct (29) from 10:30am-6:30pm on the primary election day for the lawson for congress campaign. there was also a campaign worker from fred smith for governor at the precinct all day.

if i recall, i believe that you came to northern earlier in the day to drop off some signs (your suv was covered in bumper stickers and you had an augustus cho sticker across the front of your shirt). you spoke with the Keith Bishop for DA workers for a second but didn't come over to the other side of the entrance where workers for lawson, smith, clinton, obama, black, cline and eddie davis were all working. perhaps if you had, you would have found at least a couple more republican workers.

i also know that for a time there was a lawson worker at carrington (across the street from northern), at the forest hills country club, and at various other precincts. cho had a couple of workers at carrington as well.

so, we were there. republicans were present. you just chose not to take notice.

This is an amazing thing that a social conservative and brother in Christ might receive the Republican vice-
presidential nod. I share your exuberance but only up to a point.

First, there is no guarantee that John McCain will choose Mike Huckabee as his running mate.
Second, if Huckabee becomes the running mate, there is no guarantee that John McCain will serve only one term.
Third, Huckabee's acceptance of McCain's offer would more likely lower my opinion of Huckabee than elevate my opinion of McCain.

The lesser of two evils is still evil. Applying the term evil to the current top Presidential candidates is not just a figure of speech; it reflects their current political positions and especially their past track record.

As you know, we are engaged in a culture war. Like Obama and Clinton, McCain has been on the wrong side of that war for some time. Where does John McCain stand and what is his record?

- He opposes a Constitutional amendment to protect the institution of marriage.
- He opposed tax cuts that ended the marriage penalty.
- He supports spending our tax dollars to kill human embryos for research purposes.
- He supported Roe v. Wade before he was against it.
- As author of McCain-Feingold he is an enemy of freedom of speech.
- He organized the Gang of 14 to preserve filibusters in judicial hearings.
- He has a legendary temper and often uses foul and obscene language, including taking God's name in vain.
- He refused to support the right of U.S. military chaplains to pray in Jesus' name.
- He considered leaving the GOP caucus in 2001 and approached John Kerry about being Kerry's running mate in 2004.
- He said publicly that Hillary Clinton would make a good President.
- He wrote the bill helping Ted Kennedy in his attempt to grant amnesty to illegal aliens (McCain-Kennedy).

This man is clearly unfit to be President. I have no intention to vote for him regardless of who his running mate is.

On top of this, McCain recently refused James Dobson's request to talk with him.

I would be delighted to see Mike Huckabee on the GOP ticket but not as John McCain's running mate. I would be even more delighted to see Alan Keyes as our next President. His chances are slim, but he is still running. See www.alankeyes.com.
